SHRA Ctte Members met at Marj’s on the South Harbour Promenade to Support the energetic Fun Runners, during Eastbourne’s annual Half Marathon yesterday.

Congratulations to all of the fun runners who took part and raised much needed funds for charity.

Sunday 25th Feb saw hundreds of fun runners participate in Eastbourne’s annual half marathon.

Marj Pratt, one of the SHRA Ctte Members had organised her customary supporters’ event to applaud, support and motivate the runners as they ran along the outer South Harbour promenade, just over half way through their ordeal.

This year’s turnout was the best ever, and the fun runners were appreciative of everyone’s efforts to keep them going.

Rick Runalls, SHRA Chair, nearly needed the medics, as his hands were so sore from clapping that it nearly prevented him from picking up his wine glass ;-)

There are a few who are waking up this morning with sore throats and lost voices…

A big thank-you to Marj for hosting the event, to everyone who attended and brought something, and to Ian, the ‘barbie wizard’.

Shocked Revellers in Hallucination Mystery

The massed crowds on the Promenade were starting to think their drinks had been spiked when they saw a mysterious fun runner, hopping and skipping alongside the rest.

But our exclusive photo helps prove that this wasn’t some trick of the light; so who was this ‘hot under the collar’ Antipodean? The mystery continues…

I hope to get my hands on some rare video footage of this amazing event, and our hopping friend – watch this space…
